Help us build the first statue in Baltimore dedicated to a Negro Leagues baseball legend.
Leon Day named to the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame
Induction Ceremony on October 13, 2022
Our mission is to honor the many achievements of Baltimorean Leon Day, pitcher for both the Baltimore Black Sox and Baltimore Elite Giants, and to memorialize the National Baseball Hall of Famer as one of the most versatile athletes of his time.
We aim to inspire Baltimore youth and baseball fans and the general community through Leon Day’s example, learning through his extraordinary accomplishments of strength and determination, maintaining focus and consistency against great odds.
We are working with the Leon Day Foundation to commission an African-American Maryland sculptor to create the life-sized statue of Leon Day.
We are working toward obtaining a City Council Resolution for the day the Leon Day sculpture is revealed.
And we’re developing a partnership with the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.
Help us reach our goal of $100,000
